Diefenbaker was born in 2009 when Canadian exile Shari Fedak came to Baltimore on the trail of her father's killers. Lead singer and synth-nerd Shari recruited guitarist and compulsive songwriter Jeff Malice, electron master and bassist Brendan, and drummer Justin Thymine. The band quickly conjured a mix of garage rock, postpunk, and new wave over a base of Britpop and American alt-rock.
